Cancer updates:
I hate writing them, but at the same time it is so therapeutic…sometimes it helps me realize I am worried about nothing, other times it prompts me to see my oncologist.
I didn’t have another appointment with my Oncologist until late August but recent developments have caused [...]

Some people are idiots…
Like the ones who call pot a ‘gateway drug’
Sorry, but pot doesn’t lead to the use of harder drugs, if anything, it lessens inhibitions asscoiated with the fear of ‘trying’ other drugs.
Chronic potheads are just too damn lazy [read :stoned:] to care about other drugs, like; meth, coke, heroin etc. I grew [...]

Posted on August 20, 2007. Filed under: Another Day In The Life..., Love, Miles Levin, SURVIVOR, Surviving Cancer, blogaholics, pain |

Miles Levin died yesterday. he left his earthbound body behind, hopefully off to bigger, better and even happier times.
I watched from a distance as he became a sort of celebrity, Larry King wanted to interview him. HIM. A gangly boy with a deadly disease.
I followed his family blog and commented often on his message board [...]

Waiting for biopsy results

Posted on July 18, 2007. Filed under: Another Day In The Life..., CANCER, Surviving Cancer, pain |

I had a biopsy taken last Friday and I am still waiting for the results.
Any time a cancer patient has a biopsy, the wait for your results is excruciatingly painful. The days tick by at an agonizingly slow pace, you find yourself trying to stay busy so the time will pass quickly. But that just never seems [...]

I hate doing my ‘cancer updates’

I hate writing them, but at the same time it is so therapeutic…sometimes it helps me realize I am worried about nothing, other times it prompts me to see my oncologist.
I didn’t have another appointment with my Oncologist until late August but recent developments have caused me to get an earlier appointment which eerily [...]

Medicinal marijuana

It’s a YES or NO question. Legalize marijuana or don’t. Medicinal marijuana should be available to patients who will truly benefit from using it daily. Cancer patients going through chemo say that it helps settle their nausea. Other patients have used it to stimulate their appetite to prevent weightloss during treatment. Others still have used [...]

How little lumps can scare you…

Posted on June 22, 2007. Filed under: Ambiguity, Another Day In The Life..., Cape Cod, Friendship, Surviving Cancer, blogaholics |

I never used to freak out about a new freckle or a swollen lymph node in my neck or groin. Now I am very aware of changes in my body. And I can sometimes over-react…but I think I am entitled to that because one can NEVER be too careful after having been diagnosed with cancer, [...]

Looking on the bright side……….

Posted on June 13, 2007. Filed under: Another Day In The Life..., Surviving Cancer, blogaholics |

…is there always a bright side? Or at least, a brighter side? Sometimes it is hard to tell when everything goes dark and your world is covered by a shroud of gloom and despair.
There is a lot to be said for the power of positive thinking and humor…humor….Did you know they call the funny bone [...]

Getting a cancer diagnosis

Posted on May 25, 2007. Filed under: Another Day In The Life..., Surviving Cancer |

I think there are worse things one could be told by their Doctor.
[at least I am not terminal.]
Seriously, because of the way things ‘unfolded’ for me, I knew before the Doctor told me that I had cancer, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out, if the send you to an Oncologist, you [...]
