Good Morning World

Planet Earth  Good Morning World!

Blogging is a bit like authoring/writing. Except in shorter bursts.  Whereas a book typically has a single/main topic, blogging can cover many different topics, from many differing points of view each day.

Today….today I will just write about me.

My name is Sharon [as the blog title infers] I will be 48 years old on June 20 [620 is my lucky number], and close friends/family are reminded of me daily because I am forever pointing out 620’s to them. $620 in money amounts $6.20 or $620.00 and when the clock reads 6:20 [AM or PM] I am quick to point it out.

I was born on Father’s Day in 1959. A child of the ’60’s and ’70’s. Life seemed much simpler then…Hell! At least I had my health! I have 6 siblings [all still living] 4 older sisters and 2 younger brothers [the 'baby' will be 43 on June 5th] My mother still introduces me as ‘my baby girl’…which is both cute and annoying. [No offense Mom, should you EVER read my blog!]

I have been with my ‘life partner’ Greg for 20 years. It was lust at first sight. We were very attracted to one another [let's face it, 20 years ago we were ACTUALLY attractive people. HaHa] We have been together since the first day we met. I love him with all my heart. He is my best friend. And I plan on growing [kinda] old with him. None of this living ’til we’re 90 shit! I DO NOT WANT TO LIVE THAT LONG!! I cannot even imagine being that old!

Greg is just 9 months older than I am, so we grew up at the same time. It’s funny, as teen-agers living on Cape Cod, in a time when you knew EVERYONE because the communities were so small…he and I knew a lot of the same people but we never met. I can’t imagine what it would have been like had we met at age 18 rather than at age 28. We probably would have hated one another. [HaHa!! No, really!]

When we met at age 28 I had 2 little girls and was in the process of divorcing my cheating, lying, jackass of a redneck husband, who I never would have married had I not gotten pregnant…long story. [ANOTHER BLOG TOPIC]

Anyway, Greg fell in love with me and my little girls and he raised them as his own. In 1993 we adopted a toddler [Erica] which is also another BLOG category [ADOPTION]

Now ‘our baby’ is 16 years old, almost a Jr in high school and a week away from getting her driver’s license. She is an honor roll student, very smart, and very much a smartass [like me, her mother!] We love her so much! She is such a terrific kid! [young lady..oops!]

Our oldest daughter is 25 married to a cop/Iraqi War veteran [at age 25] and they have an angel named Emily Elizabeth who turned 3 in March. My beautiful grandbaby… they are planning a road trip this fall and are coming down [from MASS to NC] for a visit…I am psyched! We all are!! Can’t wait to see them!!

Our ‘middle’ daughter is Ashley [she prefers Ashleigh] she is 21 and living with friends in Boston. She works at a hardware store and LOVES Anime and All Things StarGate [or all things Sci-Fi] She is a brilliant person. Honestly, she is probably one of the most intelligent people I will ever know. I used to love our conversations which could last for hours and I miss her saying to me each day, “I love you Mommy”

She did call me today [it's Mother's Day] and I was so happy just to hear her voice. [love you Ashy] And Kate and Adam sent flowers, I think that is the first time Kate sent flowers to me, they are lovely, and I appreciate the thought so much! Kate and Adam are planning a trip down here in the fall [it's 910 miles] we hope they can put it together so we can spend time with them and Emily.

So?

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mom’s everywhere.
